Photo Essay - Coney Island Polar Bear Club
You may have heard about so-called "polar bear clubs". Most think of ad-hoc clusters of people around the world who gather for a swim on New Year's Day. Well, there are also much more formal gatherings of these hearty creatures.
The Coney Island Polar Bear Club is one of the oldest and most active ongoing polar bear clubs going.

Trivia Bit - Roman Numerals
What number do you get if you add up all of the Roman numerals?
M D C L X V I = 1666
(1000 + 500 + 100 + 50 + 10 + 5 +1)
which just happens to be the year of the Great Fire of London!
Note that the Romans never had a number to describe zero. It simply wasn't a numerical concept to them. Hence the reason that use of Roman numerals died out and was overtaken by the Arabic number system.
